Like any other established carmaker, Jeep is also focusing on electrification. The upcoming 2024 Jeep Wrangler EV is one of the first models that will be fully electrified. Of course, the rest of the models in the brand’s lineup will get the same treatment shortly after that. Wrangler SUV is one of Jeep’s most popular models.
Recently, Jeep released the Magneto all-electric concept. Reportedly, the Wrangler Magneto model is coming next year, and it will be the most capable Wrangler ever built. Many changes and upgrades will happen in the next year, so here’s everything you need to know.
Jeep Wrangler EV Design Changes
We don’t expect a complete exterior redesign, but the 2024 Jeep Wrangler EV will slightly depart from the base version. The Magneto concept looks more modern and futuristic. Moreover, this variant comes with waterproof containers, a higher ride, and much more. It gets 30 inches of water-fording capability, new skid plates, and a 2-inch lift kit.
On top of that, 35-inch tires and rock rails are included as standard. We expect to see both the two-door and the four-door variants. Some cosmetic upgrades are going to happen, but we don’t anticipate a major overhaul. The Wrangler EV will wear lots of blue accents, which is one of the ways to recognize this model.
Interior Upgrades
Like the exterior, the cabin of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler EV will also be highlighted by various blue accents. We also expect additional chrome work and larger touchscreen options. The Magneto concept looks quite impressive, but the production model will surely arrive with some of the futuristic amenities.
Jeep will reportedly upgrade the dashboard. Furthermore, Wrangler EV will have a removable roof and doors. Still, the interior changes are not so significant. Again, this version will offer both two-door and four-door body setups.
Driving Range, Acceleration
The forthcoming 2024 Jeep Wrangler EV will be the most capable Wrangler ever built. From what we know, this version will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds. That’s faster than the regular gasoline-powered Wrangler which needs 7.4 seconds to cover the same distance. The base model produces 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Jeep will install four lithium-ion battery packs.
That is good for a total of 70 kWh. Reportedly, this model will sit on the STLA Frame architecture and it will provide around 310 miles of driving range. We don’t know that much about EV’s performance, but it will surely provide more power than the gasoline engine. Moreover, the transmission is still a big mystery. The jeep will reveal more details in the coming months.
2024 Jeep Wrangler EV Price, Release Date
The price of the new 2024 Jeep Wrangler EV will start at around $70,000. Of course, we are talking about the new Magneto variant. Most likely, Jeep will offer all-electric power in the lower trim levels, so the price could start at $50,000 or slightly above that. The sales will begin at some point in 2023, most likely in the second half of the year.
