The first spy photos of the new 2023 Jeep Renegade SUV are here. This model will enter the new generation as the 2024MY. This means the 2023 Renegade is getting a mid-cycle facelift, as we can see that in the recent spy images. Some novelties are so easy to spot. However, we don’t know how much the Renegade SUV will actually change.
We also expect to see notable interior upgrades, especially on the dashboard and instrument panel. Another important update could be the new engine option. It is the same unit that already powers Commander and Compass models. Without further ado, let’s see what new Renegade has to offer.
Jeep Renegade Spy Shots
The 2023 Jeep Renegade has been spied for the first time. We are looking at a prototype concealing critical upgrades. Despite the camouflage, new front and rear bumpers, as well as other modified parts, can be seen. There are minor tweaks to the grille, as well as new wheels.
The headlights have been restyled as well, and the position lights are now integrated. Of course, we expect to see slightly more visual upgrades. This also includes new exterior colors and minor modifications on the back. Hopefully, Jeep will provide a surprise or two.
Interior Changes
We anticipate significant changes to the dash and instrument panel in the cabin. The infotainment screen will be a floating one that rests on top of the dash, similar to the Compass and Commander models. Jeep is also redesigning the vents, which will be placed lower in the new crossover. The Renegade will also get a new steering wheel, similar to the one found in the new Compass.
Transmission, MPG
The 2023 Jeep Renegade will not introduce a new powertrain option. This SUV can be had with a 1.3-liter gasoline engine, known as Turboflex. It generates up to 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. This turbo-four engine comes with a direct injection system and stop/start technology. Thanks to that, it provides 24 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. A 9-speed automatic transmission comes as standard. You can choose a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine as well.
The TigerShark engine also comes with a 9-speed gearbox. It also provides advanced MultiAir technology for improved efficiency. The result is 180 hp and a torque of 175 lb-ft. Lastly, this engine delivers 22 miles per gallon in the city and 30 miles per gallon on the highway. Overall, a 1.3-liter unit is standard on the Limited and Trailhawk variants. On the other hand, 2.4-liter output powers the Sport and Latitude trim levels.
2023 Jeep Renegade Release Date, Price
The forthcoming 2023 Jeep Renegade will hit the markets at some point during the second half of 2022. This means the Renegade SUV is less than a year away. As for the price, the new model will cost closer to $25,000. It is reportedly the last model in the current generation. The next-gen Renegade should arrive later in 2023 as the 2024MY.
