The upcoming 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L should arrive later this year, with minor upgrades. The 2023MY will be a part of the fifth-gen Grand Cherokee, offering good performance and much more. We like the powertrain options with good towing capability. Moreover, the Grand Cherokee L provides an impressive list of standard and optional features.
Furthermore, this SUV offers a solid off-road ability. Still, we’d like to see more upright materials and a simpler arrangement of buttons. The L variant is longer than the regular Grand Cherokee, although it sits on the same unibody architecture. The sales will begin later in 2022 and the price should remain intact.
Jeep Grand Cherokee L Exterior Changes and Dimensions
The forthcoming 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L will continue with a minor facelift. After a complete redesign, this SUV is set for a smooth sail in the years to come. This means the styling will once again be influenced by a more upright Grand Wagoneer SUV. The Grand Cherokee model looks quite big, although it is a mid-size SUV.
The L version is longer by 15 inches. More precisely, Grand Cherokee L is 204.9 inches long and it offers a 121.7-inch long wheelbase. That’s longer than the Chevy Tahoe model. Still, two models are wearing exactly the same styling and the changes are truly minor.
The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is a longer version of the Grand Cherokee SUV. Therefore, it offers three rows of seats, while the base model provides two rows. The cabin space is quite impressive and we think the interior is the best thing about this model. A 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen comes as standard, along with the in-dash navigation. There will be numerous trim levels to choose from, but real luxury starts with two of the range-topping versions.
That includes leather seats, a larger 10.3-inch display, and a 9-speaker Alpine sound system. All Grand Cherokee L versions include a third row of seats, which allows for up to seven passengers via an optional second-row bench seat. A pair of captain’s chairs are standard, resulting in a capacity for six passengers.
The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L comes with a standard V6 gasoline engine, producing 290 horsepower. However, the optional V8 gasoline variant is a much better choice, as it delivers 357 horsepower. Jeep offers a standard rear-wheel-drive system, while an all-wheel-drive setup is optional. An eight-speed automatic transmission is available like in the current model.
To compare, the standard V6 gets 6200 pounds of towing capacity, while the optional V8 has 7200 pounds of towing capacity. This SUV sprints from 0 to 60 mph in eight seconds with the standard powertrain option. As for the fuel efficiency, Grand Cherokee L gets 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The V8 engine, on the other hand, provides only 14 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.
2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Price, Release Date
There will be six trim levels. The base 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Laredo variant starts at $43,500. On the other hand, Summit Reserve is the range-topping trim level that will cost almost $70,000. The Grand Cherokee L will gain minor updates only and the sales will begin in the second half of 2022.
