The upcoming 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is the most capable SUV in the lineup. It is a mid-size model with a hybrid powertrain, providing great performance. The Grand Cherokee lineup is larger than ever before. Jeep provides a two-row version, along with the three-row model and the mentioned 4xe.
On top of that, SRT and Trackhawk models are available as well, for those who are looking for even stronger performance and sportier appearance. After a complete redesign, we expect minor updates only, including both exterior and interior changes.
Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Facelift
The approaching SUV sports the brand’s signature seven-slot grille, rectangular headlamps, larger fender flares, and wider air intake. The rear section of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe features thinner taillights and big exhaust outlets integrated into the bumper. The Grand Cherokee’s boxy proportions and towering roofline also contribute to its premium appearance.
However, the Grand Cherokee 4xe model is more aggressive in appearance, with massive tires, tow hooks, and other off-road gear. Unlike other trim levels, the 4xe version can be recognized by blue highlights, especially on the hood. As we said, cosmetic upgrades will be minor, so don’t expect massive exterior changes.
Interior Changes and Upgrades
The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe offers a very elegant interior design with lots of high-tech features. The cabin is built around three screens, one of which is directly in front of the passenger. With basic lines, the dash flows into the center console.
While the Grand Cherokee boasts a high-tech interior, the SUV features buttons and dials for basic operations, making certain technologies easier to use. The interior of the new model will be a carryover. We expect an update of the infotainment system and new driver-assistance aids. Still, the cabin design and its layout will largely remain.
Performance
The same thing will happen under the bonnet, as the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is a carryover model. The base Grand Cherokee SUV continues to offer a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 293 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Optionally, you can get a 5.7-liter V8 unit with 357 horses and 390 lb-ft of torque. However, the 4xe variant is the most capable one. Jeep provides a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine in combination with a pair of electric motors.
Combined, this output is capable of producing 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The RWD system comes as standard, like in the previous model. The AWD setup will be optional once again. Jeep says the Grand Cherokee 4xe provides 56 MPGe and 25 miles of all-electric driving range. This mid-size SUV will have a towing capacity of around 6,000 pounds. Lastly, the 4xe model offers Hybrid, Electric, and eSave driving modes.
2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Price and Release Date
The price of the upcoming 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe will start at around $60,000. For an instance, the base Grand Cherokee trim level is available for $40,000. The price should remain intact, as the mid-size SUV comes with truly minor updates. The sales will begin later this summer.
