Jeep plans to release its first all-electric crossover in early 2023. At the moment, we are calling it the 2023 Jeep EV. Although we already know that Stellantis (previously Fiat Chrysler) wants to increase the number of electric cars and SUVs sold worldwide, no official information about the future Jeep EV has been released.
The manufacturer significantly improved the SUV lineup in recent years. Thanks to that, Jeep offers everything from the off-road SUV, to smaller crossovers and large three-row models. The plan is to launch 25 EVs by 2030 in the United States. This new model is just the beginning so let’s dive straight into it.
Jeep EV Styling
The new 2023 Jeep EV appears discreet and sophisticated, at least according to the most recent reports. In any case, this new model looks like the Jeep Compass. The distinctive seven-slot grille is present on the front fascia, although it is closed this time. It also has a small “e” badge on it. The headlights are quite modern and distinctive, while the taillights have a recognizable design and shape.
In general, new crossovers are looking athletic and sometimes aggressive, but Jeep accomplished it subtly this time. Because the wheel arches are wider than normal, the production vehicle will most likely have smaller rims. Overall, we find the crossover to be very modern, with a sleek exterior design and a sporty appearance.
What About Performance?
This is a difficult one because we don’t know anything about the vehicle’s specifications. The 2023 Jeep EV will undoubtedly have a lot of power, both in terms of horsepower and torque. More specific information will be released in the coming months. Stellantis showcased a new EV model last year, saying that it will have a range of around 500 miles.
Furthermore, the company will attempt to develop an electric crossover that can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in two seconds. The production model usually includes more realistic performance data. Regardless, Jeep will undoubtedly offer a remarkable EV in every way.
New Platform
The brand-new architecture that will underpin the new 2023 Jeep EV will allow some excellent things. Reportedly, it is the same platform used by Peugeot e-2008. Thanks to that, we know the new electric crossover will be compact. Of course, the carmaker will tweak this chassis so it can accommodate two motors, along with the larger battery packs.
Speaking of which, Stellantis will produce batteries in Indiana, along with Samsung. The manufacturer also has plans to produce hydrogen fuel-cell technology in the near future. From what we know, the new Jeep EV will go on sale after the Ram 1500 EV and Ram ProMaster electric van. The crossover should arrive with a standard AWD setup, although a single-motor setup will go on sale as well.
2023 Jeep EV Launch Date
From what we know, the upcoming 2023 Jeep EV will go on sale in the first half of 2023. On the other hand, some rumors are saying it will arrive before the end of 2022. Anyway, this exciting model will become available in the United States in the following months. The price is not available yet, so we are waiting to hear more details.
