The all-new 2022 Ram Rebel TRX is coming soon to the dealerships. This time, this unique off-road truck will have to bring further improvements. As you probably know, Ford is working on the brand-new Raptor R model. Reportedly, Raptor R will borrow an engine from the Mustang supercar and it will produce more power than the current Rebel TRX.
On the other hand, Ram offers an iconic supercharged V8 engine with over 700 horsepower. Still, that won’t be enough, as Ford plans to deliver even more power. Besides possible engine improvements, Ram Rebel TRX will probably gain further cosmetic upgrades and minor interior refreshments.
2022 Rebel TRX Looks Wild
As for the exterior design, the new 2022 Ram Rebel TRX will continue to offer an aggressive look. On top of that, everything about this model looks so wild and sporty. The Rebel TRX truck is based on the concept and it looks very close to its original roots. The athletic stance is perfectly combined with aggressive styling and larger exterior features.
Some parts will wear more muscles than before and both headlights and taillights are slightly bigger now. Reportedly, the grille will be wider and Ram plans to deliver slightly larger openings as well. The goal is to provide better airflow for the powerful engine. Wheels and tires will remain but new exterior paints are a possibility.
Interior Changes
As you know, the new Ram 1500 will gain various interior updates. Most likely, the 2022 Ram Rebel TRX will follow the same path, so additional interior upgrades are very likely. For a start, the TRX truck sports additional carbon-fiber materials and chrome accents. Furthermore, additional bolstering on the seats will improve the comfort. On the other hand, the upholstery won’t change.
The next-gen Uconnect5 infotainment system will be in the offer. This is a very important upgrade and we also hope to see the newest safety and driver-assistance aids. We don’t know if the approaching model will introduce a larger touchscreen or 8.4-inch and 12.0-inch units will remain.
Hellcat Engine Specs
Under the hood, the 2022 Ram Rebel TRX comes with a familiar 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine. This engine is also known as the “Hellcat” and it develops up to 707 horsepower. According to the latest reports, the new model will gain slightly more power, up to 717 hp. An eight-speed automatic transmission remains, along with the standard AWD system.
The TRX version can tow around 11,500 pounds, which is more than enough. The Ford F-150 Raptor R will arrive at some point in 2022. It is the biggest rival of the Ram Rebel TRX. The Raptor R model will borrow a supercharged engine from the Mustang Shelby GT500. This unit is capable of producing 760 hp and 625 lb-ft of torque.
2022 Ram Rebel TRX Launch Date, Price
As for the price, the forthcoming 2022 Ram Rebel TRX will cost 60,000. To compare, the Ram Rebel variant is available for around $44,000. The manufacturer will launch its new model in the second half of 2021. We can’t wait to see a new rivalry between Rebel TRX and Raptor R trucks.
