The upcoming 2022 Ram HD is coming to the markets at some point next year. In 2019, Ram introduced new-gen Ram HD, so the changes for 2022 are not that significant. Most of the things will carry over, but some changes will surely happen. According to the newest reports, the manufacturer will improve all of the aspects, including exterior and interior design.
Some changes on the front fascia are visible at first glance. The cabin will gain more tech and more standard features. As for the performance, nothing will change. We are still waiting for Ram to release more details about the 2022 model. Still, we don’t expect significant changes.
Ram HD Changes
In terms of design, the new 2022 Ram HD will get a mid-cycle facelift. The spy shots are still not available, but we expect for images to appear before the end of the year. Ram is refusing to provide more specific details about its new truck. What we know so far is that the 2021 model will gain a more aggressive look and minor changes in terms of exterior features.
That means the 2022 model will continue in almost the same manner. Ram could deliver new or redesigned headlights. Moreover, the truck will surely introduce more aluminum materials. Thanks to that, the vehicle’s weight will be additionally reduced. Ram will refresh all of the trim levels, so 2500 and 3500 trucks will look more modern. Lastly, reports are predicting a couple of brand-new exterior paints.
Interior Updates
On the inside, the new 2022 Ram HD will continue in the same manner as before. The cabin design will remain, along with the seating layout. Whatsoever, even the layout of buttons and controls is exactly the same. So, what is new? According to various reports, the new Ram HD will get a longer list of standard features.

This unit is capable of producing 385 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. However, Ram offers optional and larger 6.4-liter Hemi V8. The optional powertrain generates up to 410 horses and 430 lb-ft of torque. Still, diesel powertrain will undoubtedly remain the most popular option among the customers.
It is a well-known 6.7-liter Cummins engine with 370 hp. More importantly, the diesel powertrain delivers 930 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, the diesel engine could gain over 1000 lb-ft of twisting power in 2022. A six-speed automatic transmission is still available, which is becoming an issue. As you probably know, Ford offers a new ten-speed automatic transmission.
2022 Ram HD Release Date and Price
The price of the forthcoming 2022 Ram HD starts at around $34,500. This model is still one year away, so we can’t tell exact pricing details yet. Complete Ram Heavy-Duty lineup of trucks will hit the dealerships at some point in 2021, probably in the second half of the year.
