The upcoming 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will continue with the improvements. The Unlimited trim is different, as it offers four doors and a room for five passengers. On top of that, Wrangler Unlimited comes with a removable roof, a longer list of equipment, and much more. The 2022MY should arrive with numerous changes and upgrades.
As you know, Ford Bronco is coming soon, so Jeep is trying to improve some aspects. Still, this SUV will continue to look recognizable and unique. Nothing will change under the hood, but we expect to see visual upgrades and further interior refreshments. The sales will begin at some point in the second half of 2021.
2022 Wrangler Unlimited Offers Four Doors
The 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is a unique model. This SUV comes with a four-door body style, unlike the regular two-door Wrangler. On top of that, Unlimited offers a removable roof and more premium looks. All Wranglers will get the same cosmetic upgrades. The new model will be 166.7 inches long and the boxy appearance will remain.
However, Unlimited will look more premium and it will offer a unique color palette. Jeep will improve the lighting system and we should expect slightly bolder bumpers. On top of that, Wrangler Unlimited will gain more chrome accents.
Interior For Five
The same story continues on the inside. The 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will add more luxury. This variant already provides more standard features and a more upright cabin design. The regular Wrangler offers a room for four passengers, while the Unlimited has five seats. The interior perfectly combines Jeep’s traditional look with modern amenities.
Cabin design won’t change, but we expect to see a new infotainment system and the latest driver-assistance aids. A five-inch touchscreen is gone, and Jeep will introduce a new and larger display. Still, the 8.4-inch touchscreen is optional once again. Unlimited variant comes with the same Alpine sound system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
Engine Specs
The upcoming 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will offer the same engine option as the outgoing model. We can’t confirm yet, but Wrangler’s 4xe hybrid powertrain should be available in the Unlimited variant. As for the conventional engine options, a 3.6-liter V6 with 285 horsepower is once again standard. Jeep will offer a six-speed manual transmission, like always before.
There is an optional 2.0-liter turbocharged powertrain that generates 270 hp, but it comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission exclusively. Lastly, a 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel is optional as well and it develops 260 horses. The mentioned hybrid powertrain will produce 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, the 4xe variant provides 50MPGe and 30 miles of all-electric range.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Release Date, Price
The all-new 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will cost around $35,000. The base Wrangler starts at $28,500, so if you want a four-door model with more luxury, Wrangler Unlimited is the answer. Jeep will launch Wrangler SUV in the second half of 2021.
