The forthcoming 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 is a very impressive off-road SUV. As you know, Rubicon is an extremely off-road-capable model. However, if you want more power, the Rubicon 392 variant is available. This version is using a larger 6.4-liter V8 engine, instead of a regular 3.6-liter V6 unit.
The price is not affordable at all, but if you want such an astonishing SUV, the price is perfectly reasonable. Besides more power, Rubicon 392 delivers various exterior upgrades and interior refinements. The sales will begin in the first quarter of 2021 and here’s everything you need to know.
2022 Wrangler Rubicon 392 Specs
Under the bonnet, the new 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 hides a larger gasoline engine. It is a 6.4-liter Hemi V8, the same unit that powers Dodge Durango, Challenger, and Charger variants. This engine is capable of producing 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The four-wheel-drive is offered as standard, along with the 8-speed automatic transmission.
The gearbox comes with the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. According to Jeep, the Rubicon 392 sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. Jeep also plans to introduce an all-electric Wrangler SUV in the near future. However, Rubicon 392 won’t offer any sort of electrification in the coming years.
Design
New 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 will slightly depart from the regular Rubicon variant. More precisely, the 392 version adds different exterior features, while the vehicle’s shape and dimensions are the same. For a start, 17-inch wheels are offered as standard. Moreover, Jeep offers standard 33-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires and optional Falken Wildpeak mud-terrain rubber.
Besides that, Wrangler Rubicon 392 is available with a two-speed transfer case, Fox shocks, and Dana 44 axles. The axles are using electronic locking differentials and electronic front way-bar disconnect. Lastly, this model comes with a 3.73 final-drive ratio, which is great to hear.
Interior and Exterior Upgrades
The interior of the 2022 Jeep Rubicon 392 delivers more features. The cabin is also more premium thanks to the leather seats, updated infotainment system, and newest driver-assistance aids. The Rubicon 392 model offers two additional inches of ground clearance and it also comes with the hood scoop and body-colored features.
That includes body-colored hardtop, dual-mode exhausts, and fender flares. Jeep will deliver an optional trailer package, half doors, off-road camera, and power soft-top. Unlike the regular Rubicon variant, the 392 version also adds bronze contrast stitching on the seats.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Price and Release Date
As for the price, the new 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 will cost $75,000. As we said, the price is far from affordable. However, if you are looking for an off-road beast with a potent V8 engine, Rubicon 392 delivers it all. Some reports are predicting a cheaper variant in the next year or two, but this is not official.
Once the Rubicon 392 model arrives, it will be a fully loaded edition. Jeep offers exclusively a model with four doors, and a two-door version won’t arrive. The biggest rival is the Ford Bronco, although Ford said the Bronco SUV comes without a V8 gasoline engine.
