The upcoming 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT will continue to dominate the SUV segment with its incredible performances. The base Grand Cherokee will once again offer recognizable boxy proportions with an iconic seven-slat grille. New styling cues are borrowed from the Grand Wagoneer concept, which is a good thing. Furthermore, Grand Cherokee will switch to the famous Alfa Romeo Giorgio platform.
Thanks to that, a new model will be longer and wider than its predecessor. As for the Grand Cherokee SRT, this model offers unique 20-inch aluminum wheels with performance tires. Its bodywork is more aggressive and everything about this SUV looks sporty. Smoked exterior features such as taillights are available, along with the dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
Interior Changes
Once again, the new Grand Cherokee is getting more dramatic updates and the interior is no different. This SUV will borrow a couple of things from the Jeep Grand Wagoneer concept. Thanks to that, we think the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT will also gain new stuff. For a start, new displays are in the works. Interestingly, the Wagoneer concept comes with seven screens. This is very unlikely to happen but a 12.1-inch touchscreen with a huge digital instrument cluster is the most likely outcome.
Jeep will introduce FCA’s next-gen Uconnect5 infotainment system. This system comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integrations. The SRT model wears carbon-fiber trims, leather surfaces, and much more. The cabin design is impressive and everything looks sporty and modern. The interior room is generous and Jeep offers a lot of features.
Performances
Under the hood, things will remain intact. This is not a bad thing as the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT comes with a 6.4-liter V8 engine. The Trackhawk variant is using the same engine, but it delivers 707 hp thanks to a supercharger. The SRT variant generates 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, which is still a lot.
The performances are impressive, and Grand Cherokee SRT sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Moreover, this SUV tows 7200 pounds. Jeep offers a unique sport-tuned suspension with adaptive dampers, so the ride quality is superb, along with the handling.
2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Release Date, Price
The price of the upcoming 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT will start at slightly above $70,000. We expect to see a minor price increase, but don’t be surprised if the price jumps drastically. After all, Jeep is about to introduce major updates. The sales will begin later in 2021, probably in the last quarter of the year.
