2022 Jeep Commander is Making a Comeback By The End of 2021

The forthcoming  2022 Jeep Commander has been confirmed. Do you recall the first Jeep Commander? It was a short-lived Jeep with seven seats and a boxy appearance. However, the 2022 Jeep Commander is about to return, and it is nothing like the previous generation. The new one resembles the Jeep Compass, but the Commander will provide a larger interior room. The new Commander SUV, on the other hand, will first be available in Latin America.

We don’t know if this seven-seater model will be available in the US, but we hope so. Furthermore, China will receive a finer version known as the Grand Commander. Commander will ride on the same architecture as the Jeep Compass. Because of that, third-row of seats won’t offer generous legroom. Anyway, Jeep will offer the Grand Cherokee L model in the United States, while Commander remains a mystery.

2022 Commander Interior Details

New 2022 Jeep Commander will most likely use technology similar to the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. A 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system and a 10-inch digital cluster display will be on offer. It will also support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Although this is purely speculative, luxury and convenience features like heated and ventilated seats, a power liftgate, and automatic folding seats in the third row should be available. Jeep will also include numerous driver-assist features.

Highway assist, Blind-spot warning, and traffic sign recognition are examples of such systems. We’ll keep an eye on the new Jeep Commander’s progress. It may find its way to the United States if it gets popular in South America. A smaller Jeep Grand Cherokee L would undoubtedly be less expensive, but the third-row seats would only be appropriate for children only.

Exterior Design

The previous Commander was a boxy midsize SUV with conventional rear-wheel drive. From 2005 through 2010, this model was offered in the United States. Many fans may recall a model that appeared in China in 2018 alongside a seven-seat Grand Commander version. The 2022 Jeep Commander is supposed to be based on the Compass, but with a third row added and longer wheelbase As a result, the Commander has a larger wheelbase and greater space than the Compass.

Commander, on the other hand, will stand out. However, certain exterior components will be recognized and will not be innovative. The new Commander seems to feature a boxier appearance than the Compass version since it rides on FCA’s Small Wide architecture, which also supports the Renegade. Remember that this model was designed especially for Latina America. As a result, we anticipate the new Commander will differ from its Chinese counterpart.

Hybrid Power Most Likely to Happen

According to the most recent news, a hybrid powertrain will be available. The 2022 Jeep Commander and Grand Commander PHEV are using the same 2.0-liter turbo-four engine used in Jeep’s Wrangler, dubbed the Hurricane.

The Compass, on the other hand, deploys a 2.4-liter output in the United States, a 1.3-liter turbo four-cylinder in Europe, and a pair of MultiJet II four-cylinder variants. We still don’t know which engine will power the new Commander in South America. Still, hybrid power is good news, we are only waiting to hear its specs.
