2022 Jeep Cherokee Will Introduce Further Updates

New 2021 Cherokee could be the new-gen model. Some other reports are suggesting the next generation for the 2022 Jeep Cherokee. However, the latest information is suggesting the 2021 Cherokee get a redesign. The biggest innovation for 2021 is added third-row of seats, for the first time in Cherokee’s history. On the other hand, we don’t expect such significant changes for 2022.

However, one thing that could arrive is the hybrid powertrain. Jeep plans to change a lot of stuff on Cherokee SUV. Moreover, the Grand Cherokee variant will get the same type of updates, and it will ride on Alfa Romeo’s Giorgio platform.

Exterior Facelift

Interestingly, Cherokee SUV will get its first redesign in 2021. The upcoming 2022 Jeep Cherokee will build on that and deliver further refreshments. Here’s what to expect from Jeep in the future. The new-gen Cherokee will get a longer wheelbase and a longer hood. Moreover, slimmer taillights and headlights are also in the works.

One thing that will surely remain is the company’s iconic seven-slot grille. The 2022 Cherokee will get minor changes. That includes new exterior features, one new exterior color, and sharper rear fascia. The goal is to modernize this SUV as much as possible. Jeep will also improve the aerodynamics on all of Cherokee’s trim levels.

Interior Upgrades

Even the cabin will get small refreshments. The upcoming 2022 Jeep Cherokee will surely get additional safety aids and driver-assistance features. 2022 is still far from us and Jeep will undoubtedly offer the latest high-tech features.

As you probably know, Cherokee is getting a third-row of seats that will be optional. Furthermore, a 12.0-inch touchscreen will dominate the interior. Cherokee SUV could also get minor upgrades in terms of comfort, so the new optional upholstery is a possibility.

Gasoline and Hybrid Engine Options

Nothing will change in terms of powertrain options. The new platform can accommodate the complete Cherokee’s engine lineup. That means a 3.6-liter V6 remains, along with the 5.7-liter V6 and EcoDiesel V6. On the other hand, one significant upgrade is about to happen, and it is a hybrid powertrain. As you know, Fiat Chrysler plans to electrify all of its vehicles. Moreover, Jeep says it will have 30 hybridized models before 2022.

New 2022 Jeep Cherokee is just one of the models that will get its greener variant. Cherokee will look to combine 2.0-liter turbo-four from Wrangler with the electric motor and the battery pack. On top of that, 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar will get eTorque hybrid-assist system. We don’t know anything about the potent Hemi V8 yet.

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Just like the 2022 Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee will introduce the same updates. And while Cherokee is a smaller SUV, Grand Cherokee is a full-size model that will also offer a third row of seats. On top of that, it will provide more power due to its larger size. It will be interesting to see a hybrid configuration in Grand Cherokee and its mileage.

The rumors are saying the Fiat Chrysler is working on a new turbocharged engine. This unit should power new Wagoneer, and upper trim levels of Grand Cherokee could get the very same engine. Besides that, Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will arrive with the supercharged V8 once again.
