The latest reports are predicting the comeback of the 2022 Chrysler Imperial. It is an iconic car, produced from 1920 to 1983. After that, we saw a short-living model produced in 1989, but it lasted for only four years. In 2006, we saw a promising concept but the production never happened. Back in the days, Imperial was a luxury car and also the flagship model.
Nowadays, its comeback is still just a rumor. However, many reliable reports are strongly suggesting its return. At this moment, we don’t know that much about the brand-new Imperial model. Reportedly, this model will offer nothing but luxury and it will share a lot of things with the Chrysler 300C variant. Without further ado, here’s everything we know.
2022 Imperial Based on the 300 Sedan
The 2022 Chrysler Imperial will arrive with a premium look and very attractive design. Most likely, Imperial will be a full-size four-door sedan. At this moment, the manufacturer offers the 300 sedan. Interestingly, Imperial will be based on the 300 car, rather than on some sort of concept. However, Imperial will get a longer wheelbase. Some reports are predicting the famous Alfa Romeo Giorgio platform.
The architecture will be slightly modified but the Imperial model will gain superb ride comfort and much more. The manufacturer will offer optional 22-inch wheels and very modern styling. Moreover, unique exterior parts will be on offer, so the Imperial variant will depart from the 300C model. Still, until Chrysler makes it official, all we can do is predict.
On the inside, the new 2022 Chrysler Imperial will surely offer a lot of luxury. The goal is to deliver a premium sedan with a high level of comfort and plenty of modern features. Thanks to its longer architecture and longer wheelbase, the interior will offer a lot of space. That includes both the headroom and legroom. Even the cargo area will be impressive.
We don’t know how many trim levels will be on offer, but even the base trim level will be astonishing. Leather upholstery will be standard, along with the larger touchscreen, possibly a 10-inch unit. The Uconnect infotainment system is available, and the Imperial sedan will offer a lot of standard features, including new safety aids.
Like any other modern sedan, the 2022 Chrysler Imperial will surely offer a smaller turbocharged engine. You can read a lot of speculations regarding the larger Hemi V8 engine, but this is literally impossible to happen.
Instead, the Imperial model will most likely arrive with some sort of 1.4, 1.8, or 2.0-liter variants with a turbocharger. Reportedly, the new Imperial will also introduce an impressive nine-speed automatic transmission. An AWD setup will be optional and the range-topping variant will produce over 300 horsepower. Diesel engine won’t be on offer, along with the hybrid powertrain.
2022 Chrysler Imperial Price, Release Date
It is hard to predict the price of the full-size luxury sedan. However, a couple of rumors are suggesting a price that starts at around $50,000. This is not official and Chrysler is yet to confirm or deny these speculations. The sales should begin at some point in 2022, most likely in the first half of the year.
