The upcoming 2021 Ram 3500 has been spotted doing tests. The new model looks more aggressive than before and buyers will get a new design. New Ram 3500 will get reshaped grille and new taillights. Surely, heavy-duty pickup will get more exterior refreshments. We are still waiting for Ram to release official details.
On the other hand, the interior could also suffer a couple of refinements. That includes new tech and probably more shiny trim from the inside. As for the performances, Ram 3500 should stay intact. Finally, Ram 3500 is the first pickup truck in the segment that uses a rear-coil spring suspension.
2021 Ram 3500 Exterior Updates
New spy shots are showing us latest changes on the 2021 Ram 3500. This model is about to get significant exterior upgrades. The front end looks curvy and bolder. Grille is finished in a different shape now which results in a new design of the hood.
Front fenders are revised while the headlights will remain. The rear end will get new taillights that are sitting higher than before. The rest of the interior will remain for 2021. Ram 3500 is available in a couple of trim levels. Upper trims are offering more premium amenities and you can still opt for one of the appearance packages. For the next model, Ram could introduce one or two all-new exterior colors. According to the image that we got, the gray color is one of them.
Interior will also get a couple of updates. The 2021 Ram 3500 will offer more standard features this time. That mostly includes new driver-assistance and safety aids. The infotainment system will get an update and 8.4-inch touchscreen will be standard. Mega Cab version offers slightly different layout which should improve the legroom.
Upper trim levels are offering a larger display, leather upholstery, and more upscale trims. Whatsoever, most of the premium amenities are standard. Still, the base model will keep its cloth upholstery that will provide solid comfort. We are not sure about the complete updated list, but some features are aging and it needs to be replaced as soon as possible.
2021 Ram 3500 Engine
Under the bonnet, forthcoming 2021 Ram 3500 won’t suffer any type of changes. That means you can expect the same three engine options. A 5.7-liter V8 is standard once again and it delivers 385 horses. Moreover, torque is rated at 400 lb-ft. Optionally, Ram offers a larger 6.4-liter Hemi V8. This unit generates 410 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque.
However, diesel powertrain still attracts the most interests. A 6.7-liter Cummins produces 370 hp and up to 930 lb-ft of twist. Thanks to that, Ram 3500 equipped with diesel can tow around 20,000 pounds. Ram still offers a choice between a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. Remember, Ram 3500 is the only pickup in the segment that uses rear-coil spring suspension.
Price and Release Date
The all-new 2021 Ram 3500 will arrive next fall. The base trim level will start at around $30,000. New exterior changes and further interior updates will raise the price, but not significantly. Ram’s new pickup truck will continue to compete with Ford F-350 and Chevy Silverado 3500 models.
