Ram is delivering huge news with its best-selling model. The forthcoming 2021 Ram 1500 will hit the dealerships later next year. We can expect plenty of refreshments for this iconic pickup. That includes additional visual changes and improved interior. As a result, Ram 1500 will look better than ever. New tow hooks, refreshed styling and much more will surely surprise the customers.
Lighter frame and hybrid powertrain will improve fuel efficiency, significantly. On top of that, Ram will once again offer a wide range of trim levels and special editions. Thanks to that, this pickup will remain practical and easy to customize.
2021 Ram 1500 Design and Styling
The all-new 2021 Ram 1500 will arrive with impressive design and styling. Numerous exterior updates will surely improve the appearance of the pickup. Aerodynamics are better now and Ram will deliver lighter high-strength steel frame. Ram claims that the new model will be around 220 pounds lighter. On top of that, Ram 1500 will become a first pickup with the front air dam. Crosshair grille is no longer available. Instead, a six-sided grille is all-new and it looks astonishing.
Moreover, the grille will wear huge RAM lettering. Headlights are new as well and LED technology is offered as standard. Adaptive headlights will be optional. In the back, Ram 1500 will suffer some changes as well. Taillights are now looking more upscale. Ram will offer new optional wheels but 16-inch wheels will remain standard. At last, this light-duty pickup will get new color options.
Interior Will Gain New Features
From the inside, a new 2021 Ram 1500 will introduce a lot of updates. However, most of the updates are tech-wise. On the other hand, each trim level will gain new features. As always before, trim levels will largely determine the level of luxury inside the cabin. The base trim level still offers cloth upholstery and 8-inch display as standard.
The infotainment system will gain the latest updates. Uconnect system now comes with an optional 12-inch touchscreen that looks impressive. On top of that, improved graphics and better user experience will satisfy the customers. The comfort is great, especially on the upper trims with leather seats. Ram will keep things simple and interior will remain practical.
2021 Ram 1500 Powertrain
Under the hood, we don’t expect major changes. The upcoming 2021 Ram 1500 will keep its existing engine lineup. It does make sense as the pickup already offers gasoline and diesel options. On top of that, a hybrid variant is available too. A standard 3.6-liter V6 remains and it delivers 305 horses and 270 lb-ft of torque. An optional 5.7-liter V8 generates 395 HP and 310 lb-ft of torque. Both powertrains are offering the same 8-speed automatic transmission.
A 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel is in the offer as well. This unit will produce 260 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. As for the hybrid, Ram will pair standard V6 engine with an electric generator/motor and the battery pack. An electric motor will add 90 horsepower and 130 lb-ft of torque. As a result, we expect for Ram 1500 Hybrid to deliver almost 400 HP and 400 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, fuel economy will be incredible, no doubt about it.
Price and Release Date
The price of the arriving model will now start at $28,500. The range-topping Limited trim level will be priced at over $60,000. The 2021 Ram 1500 will hit the dealerships in the second half of 2020.
Moreover, a hybrid version will arrive at the same time as the regular model. Ram is now ready to rival Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado 1500 models.
