2021 Ram 1500 Powertrain

Under the hood, we don’t expect major changes. The upcoming 2021 Ram 1500 will keep its existing engine lineup. It does make sense as the pickup already offers gasoline and diesel options. On top of that, a hybrid variant is available too. A standard 3.6-liter V6 remains and it delivers 305 horses and 270 lb-ft of torque. An optional 5.7-liter V8 generates 395 HP and 310 lb-ft of torque. Both powertrains are offering the same 8-speed automatic transmission.

A 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel is in the offer as well. This unit will produce 260 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. As for the hybrid, Ram will pair standard V6 engine with an electric generator/motor and the battery pack. An electric motor will add 90 horsepower and 130 lb-ft of torque. As a result, we expect for Ram 1500 Hybrid to deliver almost 400 HP and 400 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, fuel economy will be incredible, no doubt about it.
