Over two years ago, the Jeep manufacturer announced that there would be a new plug-in hybrid version of the Wrangler in the near future. From the newest information and the latest spy photos, the new 2021 Jeep Wrangler Plug-In Hybrid appears to be released next year.
The upcoming model is caught testing these days and it`s completely undisguised. However, some part is visible like a thin strip of vinyl around the hood and also fenders. Also, we can clearly see the charging port that is hidden. According to news, this model is a cruise in EV mode at around 25 mph.
2021 Jeep Wrangler Plug-In Hybrid Exterior
The design of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Plug-In Hybrid will be rugged and attractive. The new model will keep the same retro design as the base one model. This means square shape with well known seven-slot grille followed with LED headlights.
Like the base Wrangler, the plug-in hybrid model is more than two inches wider and has more than two inches of additional wheelbase if we compare it to the previous models. Furthermore, this will allow more comfort inside and better stability. The rear is also unique thanks to the strong bumper and taillights that are LED powered.
Interior Rumors
The newest 2021 Jeep Wrangler Plug-In Hybrid will be sporty and techy inside. The interior will consist of the two rows of seating covered in high-quality cloth which is comfortable for all passengers. However, on the higher trim levels, the seats can be chosen with leather.

The safety rating of this sports car is high, thanks to the features like electronic stability control, plenty of airbags, lane assist system as the braking system.

At this moment there is no info what exactly will use under the hood the new 2021 Jeep Wrangler plug-hybrid. However, according to some sites, the new model will use the same engine that is under the Pacifica minivan.
The Pacifica Hybrid comes with a mighty 16-kWh battery that can drive this minivan 33 miles on a single charge. However, thanks to the smaller dimension, the Wranglers overall mileage should be greatly improved. Furthermore, from the information that we got, the new Wrangler Plug-In Hybrid that is caught testing was running in EV mode at around 25 mph. Also, thanks to the all wheel drive system that will be improved, this model will be a great off-roader.
Release Date and Price
The manufacturer said that the forthcoming 2021 Jeep Wrangler plug-in hybrid SUV will be launched sometime in 2020 as 2021. However, the price is not yet revealed. But likely the plug-in hybrid will cost a fair bit more than a basic Wrangler.
Just for comparison, the base Pacifica Hybrid is about $5,500 more than a base non-hybrid version. Moreover, Wrangler will get some premium materials and new techs so we can expect a price increase over the Pacifica hybrid.
