The upcoming 2021 Jeep Wagoneer will arrive with further upgrades. This SUV is relatively new after its huge comeback. Ford Bronco and Wagoneer will rival each other in the coming years. And while we know almost everything about the Bronco, Wagoneer is still a mystery, sort of.
Wagoneer will enter the market that is packed with Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Escalade, BMW X7 and Range Rover. Also, the Grand Wagoneer model will become available as well. We expect a practical SUV with great performances and a high level of comfort.
2021 Jeep Wagoneer Offers Modern Shape
The all-new 2021 Jeep Wagoneer has been caught on camera recently. New spy shots are showing us a prototype with a modern shape and sharper look. It will be the largest SUV in the Jeep lineup and it will be based on the Ram 1500 architecture. Both the cab and the box are created together and are made in one piece. Thanks to that, wheelbase is shorter.
Roll bars are placed in the back of the cab. New 2021 Wagoneer will introduce new rear independent suspension as well. That means the Ram’s solid rear axle is gone. This will allow the newest Jeep’s SUV to act more natural off the road. Newest reports are suggesting two versions with different wheelbases.
Interior Details
Interior is still hiding a lot of visual details. Jeep is currently lacking a three-row SUV in its lineup. The 2021 Jeep Wagoneer is a perfect candidate for that. Literally, every automaker offers at least one SUV with three rows and Jeep is desperate to deliver something similar. According to the latest reports, Wagoneer will offer a room for seven or eight passengers.
Jeep plans to make Wagoneer a flagship model and for that reason, the interior will be very upscale. Some cues are borrowed from the Ram’s 1500 model. Premium use of upholstery, soft-touch surfaces and modern features are what we all expect. It will be interesting to see the official interior details.
Powertrain Expectations
We can’t wait to see the engine lineup of the upcoming 2021 Jeep Wagoneer. First reports suggested a Hemi V8 engine. Now, the newest reports are expecting a turbocharged six-cylinder unit. Clearly, this engine will easily outperform the famous Hemi V8 that is producing 395 horsepower. A 3.6-liter V6 will be standard. It is a Pentastar drivetrain that can be found in many of Jeep’s models.
Hybrid and Diesel Rumors
A hybrid variant is another speculation for now. Wagoneer and Bronco will be the biggest rivals and both of them will deliver hybrid powertrain in the near future. We can also expect a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine to make its debut. We already wrote the 2021 Wagoneer will be based on the Ram 1500 truck. For that reason, this diesel unit is a very probable outcome. On top of that, a new 8-speed automatic TorqueFlite transmission will be standard.
2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer To Get More Space
Jeep will also introduce a larger Grand Wagoneer variant. The 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will arrive with more space and better stability. The full-size SUV will be dimensionally larger than the base Wagoneer model. It will ride on the same platform and it will look visually the same.
There will be three rows of seats. Of course, Grand Wagoneer comes with generous cabin space and ample legroom. Logically, this SUV will cost a lot more than its smaller sibling. The price will start at around $120,000.
Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new 2021 Jeep Wagoneer will start somewhere between $70,000 and $75,000. There will be numerous trim levels and special variants to opt for.
That includes models such as SRT or Trackhawk. We expect this SUV to hit the dealerships later in 2020.
