The upcoming 2021 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk is about to arrive. It is the range-topping trim level that will gain additional upgrades. However, the changes are far from significant. Small visual upgrades are visible, along with the interior updates. Nothing will change under the hood, either. Trailhawk trim is also called the “Trail Rated Tough.”
That means Jeep tested this trim in various conditions, including the off-roading. Moreover, Trailhawk models are known for good traction, stability, maneuverability, and additional ground clearance. The hybrid powertrain is perhaps the highlight of the 2021 Renegade, and the Trailhawk variant will also offer electrified power.
2021 Renegade Trailhawk Colors
New 2021 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk is available in numerous exterior paints. More precisely, Jeep offers eleven different colors. That includes Clearcoat variants such as Alpine White, Black, Bikini Metallic, and Colorado Red.
Moreover, Omaha Orange, Glacier Metallic, Granite Crystal Metallic, and Jetset Blue are also available. Lastly, Renegade Trailhawk comes with Slate Blue Pearlcoat, Techogreen Metallic, and Sting-Gray paints. We can’t say if Jeep will introduce new colors or drop some of the existing paints.
Optional Packages
What we like about the new 2021 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk are its optional packages. The Sun & Sound Package costs $2,000, and it provides dual-pane panoramic power sunroof. Moreover, this package comes with the Kenwood premium sound system. The Luxury Group III package costs the same, and it offers new LED projector bi-function headlights.
Moreover, LED fog lights, LED daytime running lights, and LED taillamps are available too. Trailer Tow Group costs only $500, and it adds Class III receiver hitch and new 4 Pin Wiring Harness. Finally, Jeep offers the MOPAR Exterior Appearance Group for $550. This package is available with chrome front air deflector, front splash guards, rear guards, and new side window deflectors.
Engine Specs
The base Renegade uses a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 180 hp. However, the 2021 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk comes with a 1.3-liter turbo-four that can produce up to 177 horsepower. This engine is optional on trim levels such as Sport and Latitude, but Limited and Trailhawk are offering it as standard. Smaller displacement has more torque than the larger 2.4-liter unit, and it provides better acceleration. On top of that, the optional engine is quieter. A 1.3-liter delivers 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
A nine-speed automatic transmission comes as standard, while four-wheel-drive setup is optional. As before, Renegade Trailhawk offers a standard front-wheel-drive system. Lastly, the PHEV variant is available. A 1.3-liter engine works in combination with the electric motor and battery pack. Total output is rated at 240 horsepower, and we should expect over 30 mpg combined from the Renegade PHEV.
