The upcoming 2021 Jeep Patriot comes as a huge surprise from the FCA. This compact crossover was popular a decade ago. Its journey started in 2006 when Patriot debuted along with the Jeep Compass. Both models shared the same underpinnings and much more. However, Compass is still here, and Patriot’s production ended in 2017.
Now, the FCA plans to return one of its most popular nameplates. Patriot will represent an affordable option in the compact crossover-SUV segment. Some things about the new-gen model are easy to predict, but most of the vehicle remains a mystery.
2021 Patriot Trim Levels
New 2021 Jeep Patriot will offer three trim levels. The Sport trim comes with standard cloth upholstery, Bluetooth, auxiliary audio jack, and manual locks. On top of that, this model adds 16-inch wheels, tinted rear windows, and a four-speak sound system. The Latitude trim level will offer a leather-wrapped steering wheel and reclining rear seatbacks. 17-inch wheels are available, along with 115-V power outlet, air conditioning, and satellite radio.
Limited trim level is certain, but nothing is official yet. If that turns to be the truth, Patriot Limited will offer everything that Sport and Latitude variants are offering. However, Limited will add more luxury, such as larger displays, leather upholstery, and numerous driver-assistance aids.
Exterior and Interior Features
As for the rest of the exterior and interior features, the new 2021 Jeep Patriot has so much to offer. For example, fog lights are standard, along with roof rails and 60/40split-folding rear seats. However, if you need more than that, you’ll have to load a couple of optional amenities.
That includes a nine-speaker audio system, black alloy wheels, remote keyless entry, and a sunroof. The offer is similar to the one in Jeep Compass, but Compass will be a more premium model.
Engine Specs
The upcoming 2021 Jeep Patriot will offer two engine options. The first engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline unit with 158 hp. Moreover, this engine delivers 140 lb-ft of torque. An FWD system is standard, and transmission for this output is not available yet. Optional 2.4-liter four-cylinder is capable of producing 172 horsepower. On top of that, optional drivetrain generates 165 lb-ft of torque.
Again, the FWD system is available as standard, but this variant could arrive with a CVT transmission. As for the fuel economy, standard 2.0-liter has been rated at 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. The optional engine is good for 22 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Lastly, Patriot SUV will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 9.2 seconds.
2021 Jeep Patriot Price and Release Date
The idea of 2021 Jeep Patriot is to offer something more affordable. While this model will be similar to Jeep Compass, it will cost below $20,000 or around that price. As we said, there will be three trim levels. However, Jeep will offer at least one special edition at some point.
Moreover, Sport SE package or High Altitude Edition are very certain to happen. This crossover-SUV will most likely go on sale at some point in 2021, probably in the first quarter.
I would like to see the return of the Jeep Patriot. I am uncertain who made the Dumb decision to take the Patriot off the road and keep the compass but they should be terminated. The patriot gives the box style, something different from all the rest of the SUV’s today.
