The comeback of the iconic Aspen is about to happen in the coming months. We are already writing about the upcoming 2021 Chrysler Aspen that will hit the markets later next year. Interestingly, Aspen wasn’t the best-selling SUV in the United States. However, it was a very popular model in other parts of the globe.
The 2020 Aspen will look very attractive and it will share a lot of stuff with Dodge Durango. The 2021 model will surely introduce a couple of visual updates, better interior and possibly a hybrid powertrain. There will be a room for eight and you can choose between five trim levels.
Exterior Details
The forthcoming 2021 Chrysler Aspen will share the underpinnings with the Dodge Durango. Whatsoever, two models will share more than that. This SUV will get more lightweight materials than Durango and it will lighter. Moreover, Chrysler is willing to introduce better aerodynamics that will boost fuel efficiency. Also, aerodynamics will provide a more aggressive look and sportier stance.
Styling will be extremely modern and we can’t find anything on new Aspen that someone shouldn’t like. LED headlights are available as standard and 2021 model could get slightly larger bumpers and new optional wheels.
Spacious and Luxury Interior
One of the highlights of the previous-gen Aspen was its spacious cabin. Now, the 2021 Chrysler Aspen will tend to do exactly the same thing. However, this time, Chrysler will deliver an amazing interior that looks both modern and stylish. There will be three rows of seats and a room for eight passengers. The instrument cluster and dashboard are looking especially modern but there will be no changes in 2021.
Whatsoever, the only updates are tech-wise and that means we can expect more systems and safety aids. Chrysler plans to improve the list of available driver-assistance features. Besides that, this SUV offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and much more.
Performance, MPG, Transmission
You can forget about the previous-gen Aspen and its famous V8 engine. The base trim level will now ride on a smaller 3.2-liter Pentastar. Thanks to the turbocharger, the 2021 Chrysler Aspen will produce 270 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Optionally, you can buy a 3.6-liter V6. This gasoline output generates up to 300 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
Both units are similar in terms of power and fuel efficiency. Interestingly, both engines are rated at 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The optional AWD system is available and the 2021 Aspen will use a 6-speed automatic transmission.
2021 Aspen Hybrid
The 2020 Aspen will go on sale probably before the end of the year. Chrysler is already focused on the 2021 model and its improvements. The upcoming 2021 Chrysler Aspen will get its first hybrid version. It is the most logical outcome for this SUV. After all, if you want to compete with established models, you just have to focus on hybrids.
Chrysler will most like combine the base 3.2-liter with an electric motor and larger battery pack. This output will produce the same amount of power, probably slightly more. However, Aspen Hybrid will deliver over 35 mpg combined which is astonishing for this all-new SUV.
2021 Chrysler Aspen Price and Release Date
Company’s new three-row SUV is making a comeback that is scheduled for the end of 2020. The price will start slightly below $50,000. The upcoming 2021 Chrysler Aspen is one year away and it will offer a couple of improvements. A hybrid powertrain is the biggest one so far. There will be five trim levels and Chrysler will keep the prices intact.
No V8 option in a luxury segment???? Already a fail…..
