The 2020 Ram Power Wagon was caught on the road testing and we saw the newest spy photos. Luckily, the pickup truck didn’t wear any type of camouflage. Most of the fans will be disappointed to see the exterior that is a clear carry-over of the current model. The exterior is inspired by the Ram 2500 Mega Cab model. On top of that, some will find it as a shocking decision as the Ram 1500 got a proper update.

However, the interior of the 2020 Ram Power Wagon will be either all-new or significantly upgraded. As the 2019 Detroit Auto Show is beginning in one month, the things are pretty clear. New Ram Power Wagon will only get the interior refreshment. The exterior and the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 will remain.
2020 Ram Power Wagon Redesign
The upcoming 2020 Ram Power Wagon won’t be redesigned as some rumors suggested. Whatsoever, the exterior design will totally stay intact. While the Ram 1500 will get numerous exterior changes, new Power Wagon will still look like the Ram 2500 Heavy-Duty model.
The styling of the hood will remain bold, along with the sculpted headlights. The iconic crosshair grille is gone last year across the whole pickup truck lineup. The 2020 Ram Power Wagon will offer the current grille that looks distinctive. The spy shots are interesting as the upcoming model was “naked” on the road. Perhaps the carmaker feels there is nothing to hide as there are zero upgrades. The design looks muscular and the ride height is pretty high for the segment. The styling is sharp and the Power Wagon takes a really aggressive stance.
Overall weight is reduced
A high-strength steel bed and the tailgate are lighter than before thanks to the additional aluminum work. Thanks to that, the vehicle’s overall weight is reduced. Just like before, exterior paints such as Granite Crystal, Bright Silver, Blue Streak and Bright White will be in the offer.
2020 Ram Power Wagon Cabin Will Be Very Modern
The exterior is clearly based on the Ram 2500 HD model, but the interior will be closer to the Ram 1500 Light Duty model. That is a good thing as the Ram 1500 offers one of the best cabins in the segment. Even better, the 2020 Ram Power Wagon will get either all-new or significantly updated interior.
The cabin will be very modern for such an aggressive pickup truck. Plenty of soft-touch surfaces and upscale materials are visible. Furthermore, tech features are up to date and most of them are standard.
The Uconnect system adds the 8.4-inch touchscreen.
However, the optional 12-inch touchscreen is more than recommendable. Even the base model with the cloth upholstery and gray interior scheme looks amazing. Upper trims are offering leather upholstery with contrast stitching.
The seats are very supportive and are available with the heating and cooling options. The premium black interior scheme will be in the offer once again. While we can’t see the whole interior on the spy shots, you can expect significant changes on the dash and the center stack.
2020 Ram Power Wagon Powertrain Changes
We don’t expect too see any change under the hood of the all-new 2020 Ram Power Wagon. That means the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine will remain the standard option. This powertrain is capable of producing up to 410 horses and 430 lb-ft of torque. The gasoline unit comes with the 6-speed automatic transmission. Power Wagon could get upgraded suspension and all-electric sway bars.
However, there is a big question mark over the diesel powertrain. According to some reliable sources, a 6.7-liter Cummins is certain to happen. That means the 430 HP and 900 lb-ft of torque engine could be in the offer as an option. Until that happens, Ram Power Wagon will continue to tow 12,000 pounds. Additionally, you can expect some additional off-roading gear to be in the offer.
2020 Ram Power Wagon Price and Release Date
The latest interior and under the skin upgrades will make a new model to cost slightly above the current price. That means the 2020 Ram Power Wagon will cost around $53,500.
Firstly, the pickup will be presented at the 2019 Auto Show in Detroit and then it will go on sale later in 2019. The production already started in the company’s plant in Mexico.
