Upper trim levels are offering more chrome accents, especially up front. The front end hosts wider grille and the same set of LED headlights. Ram 2500 Mega Cab will introduce New Holland Blue and Case IH Red as the new exterior colors. Skid plates and additional off-road equipment is standard on higher trim levels. That also includes the two hooks. The heavy-duty pickup is a real workhorse, however, if you are buying one only for drive-purposes, Appearance package is a must. This package offers body-colored features, badging, sportier styling, and the new 20-inch wheels.

Overall, that is the only huge difference between the cabs. Mega Cab is available on all trim levels, from the base model to the Tungsten Limited. The premium 2020 Ram 2500 Mega Cab comes with astonishing premium amenities like leather upholstery. An 8.4-inch touchscreen is standard on this trim. Ride comfort is good, the cabin is quiet with the gasoline engine. Diesel variant adds slight noise when accelerating.

Trim Levels

The 2020 Ram 2500 Mega Cab is a pickup truck that will arrive with numerous trim levels. Opting for the base model is only recommendable for simple use. However, if you want to use the heavy-duty pickup for work or fun adventures, you need to make a different choice. The base trim is also known as the Tradesman and it offers 17-inch wheels, locking tailgate and vinyl upholstery. More or less, mostly basic stuff. SLT trim level comes with additional chrome trims, 18-inch wheels, power windows, remote locking, cloth upholstery, and Bluetooth.

The exterior isn’t that much different but the interior is significantly better. The Big Horn is one very popular trim. This trim is available in Texas as the “Lone Star”. 18-inch alloy wheels are in the offer, along with the fog lights, remote ignition, chrome grille slats, and premium cloth upholstery. A 115-volt power outlet is available as well. Laramie and Laramie Longhorn are entry-level of a premium pickup truck with more standard features and more equipment. The upcoming pickup will get zero changes under the hood. That means the 2020 Ram 2500 Mega Cab will continue to offer a 5.7-liter V8 as standard. This strong V8 manages to produce 385 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The larger and optional 6.4-liter Hemi V8 is the same engine type but it delivers more power.

This powertrain is rated at 410 horses and 370 lb-ft of torque. Finally, a 6.7-liter Cummins is in the offer. The diesel engine is capable of generating 370 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque. Gasoline options will use a 6-speed automatic transmission while the diesel unit comes with both manual and automatic 6-speed gearbox. The 2500 Mega Cab offers rear-wheel-drive as standard and the part-time four-wheel-drive setup is optional.

Whether you buy the heavy-duty pickup truck for work or fun, the base trim level won’t be enough. The base 2020 Ram 2500 Mega Cab starts at $35,000. Loading a couple of features or opting for a higher trim level would be more recommendable. There are so many trim levels and the range-topping models will cost over $70,000. The all-new 2020 Ram 2500 Mega Cab will hit the dealerships in the last quarter of 2019.
