2020 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat Produce A Mind-Whooping 707 Horsepower

One of the most powerful full-size pickup trucks is coming to the markets once again. The upcoming 2020 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat model is almost ready to hit the roads and to deliver the most power in the segment. This pickup can generate up to 707 horses and the upcoming model will see some further improvements in terms of design. Ram 1500 is generally one of the most popular pickup trucks on the American soil. For that reason, the SRT version is very popular in the high-performance segment.

The 2020 model was recently spotted wearing heavy camouflage and we can see a lot of improvements. The arriving pickup will be even more handsome and attractive. The front end suffered the most changes and the whole vehicle will be lighter than before. More off-road equipment is in the offer and the interior will get a lot of upgrades. Under the hood, the powerful engine will remain and we can’t see that will change anytime soon.

The exterior of the 2020 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat will depart from the regular 1500 model. The changes are visible on literally every part of the body. The front end comes with a larger grille and “SRT” badges. The bumper is different, just like the fog lights. Overall, the front fascia looks extremely aggressive which is clear Ram’s intention.

The standard wheels are 22-inch long while the 24-inch wheels are optional. More chrome and matte materials are visible at first glance. Lower riding height is a must for a pickup with such strong performances.

2020 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat Offers Premium Harman/Kardon 900-watt Audio System

The upcoming 2020 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat will offer astonishing interior. Just like the exterior, the interior will also get further changes that will separate SRT from the base model. The comfort is better thanks to the heavily bolstered seats with Alcantara inserts. The cabin design is impressive, especially the gauge cluster with the “SRT” badge in the middle of it. Moreover, the gauge cluster is made of carbon-fiber materials and it looks very cool. The steering wheel is brand new and it holds the flat-bottom design with the leather coverings.

One thing that will remain is the rotary shifter. However, unlike the traditional “S” setting, new shifter offers a PRND setting. The 8.4-inch infotainment display that is optional on the Ram 1500 model will be standard here. The premium Harman/Kardon 900-watt audio system is standard as well. Even the safety rating will be more than good thanks to the standard aids such as lane-keep assist and forward-collision warning.

2020 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat Powertrain

The things are pretty clear under the hood of the all-new 2020 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat. As the name suggests, the 6.2-liter V8 Hellcat will power the full-size pickup truck. This unit is borrowed from the Dodge Charger model and it can produce a 707 horsepower. On top of that, the torque rating is set at 650 lb-ft.

The engine comes with the paddle shifters and the 8-speed automatic gearbox. It is the strongest powertrain in the segment and we can’t wait to see the acceleration of the pickup. The rear-wheel-drive setup is standard while the all-wheel-drive is certain to happen. There is an option for the manual gearbox as well. Of course, we can’t wait to see the tow rating and further engine specifications.

Suspension

The carmaker already lowered the height of the 2020 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat. Now, some further changes will need to happen in order to support such a powerful engine. For the start, new suspension is a must. For that reason, the automaker will modify the current pickup truck’s suspension.

The front end will get brand-new bushings and new and thicker anti-roll bar. Expect coil-over shocks that will be sportier. That means the old leaf springs are gone and the five-link configuration with the coil springs are in the offer. The rear end will be much easier to tune as a result. Thicker sway bar and some additional upgrade are about to happen.

The forthcoming 2020 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat won’t be cheap at all. The powerful pickup will start at around $60,000. That makes the SRT model less affordable than all of the trim levels.
