One of the most luxurious, refined and modern pickup trucks on the market is for sure the 2020 Ram 1500 eTorque. This model is a perfect example that the electrification won’t necessarily ruin the pickup segment. Whatsoever, something totally different happened. RAM is now offering astonishing full-size pickup truck that benefits from extra torque and better mileage.

American carmaker is offering two drivetrain choices so you can attach an electric motor to either V6 or V8 engine. The electric motor will pump an additional 90 lb-ft of torque for the V6 and 130 lb-ft for V8. The interior is very upscale, even the lower trims.

From the outside, the 2020 Ram 1500 eTorque will look very modern and attractive. While not overly aggressive, this pickup truck offers mean appearance. After all, this is a full-size pickup that comes with steel frame. While based on the regular Ram 1500, eTorque variant comes with slight differences.

The crosshair grille is the past and the new sophisticated grille looks sportier and more sophisticated. LED headlights are standard, along with the fog lights and daytime running lights. Higher trim levels are available with more chrome trims and larger wheels. However, 16-inch wheels will remain standard on the base model. Ram will offer new exterior paints and even the two-tone scheme is available.

The all-new 2020 Ram 1500 eTorque offers a refined and upscale interior. Lower trims are making a real difference with so many standard equipment and heavier use of premium materials. Of course, the level of comfort will raise through the trims, but generally, it is a modern interior.

The Uconnect infotainment system is up to date and it comes with the 8.4-inch display. Sportier seats and the shape of the vents are providing a really modern appearance. A 12-inch display, 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are all optional.

Under the hood of the forthcoming 2020 Ram 1500 eTorque will be a hybrid system. This full-size pickup truck is perhaps the perfect example that the hybrid drivetrain won’t ruin the pickup segment. You can equip your model with either 3.6-liter V6 or 5.7-liter V8 Hemi. Those engines are attached to the single electric motor that provides additional power. To be more precise, the electric unit adds 90 lb-ft of torque to the V6 and 130 lb-ft to the V8 engine. Knowing that V6 is offering a total output of 325 horses and 360 lb-ft of twists.

The optional and larger 5.7-liter V8 Hemi is generating 415 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. Not only that, mileage figures will jump from 22 mpg combined to 30 mpg combined. Ram is also promising better and smoother transmission than on the current Ram 1500 eTorque model.

The forthcoming 2020 Ram 1500 eTorque starts at around $35,000 for the base model. However, equipping the full-size pickup with the optional V8 and some premium interior amenities could cost you up to $60,000. The new 2020 Ram 1500 eTorgue model will arrive later in 2019, probably in December.
