While other automakers are leaving the sedan segment, Dodge has different plans. The upcoming 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody is about to arrive. This speedy sedan is all about sportiness and performances. A two-door variant is powered by amazing Hellcat. Widebody is actually a package that is available on the R/T model and of course, on the Hellcat variant.
Widebody is logically wider than the regular model. It adds larger wheels, beefier suspension and lot more. Even the interior is sportier if that is possible at all. This racy sedan comes with amazing acceleration, real engine noise and plenty of technology.
2020 Dodge Charger Widebody Design
When it comes to real changes, there won’t be any of them. That could possibly never happen. The charger comes with tradition and its look is the same for years now. It is a two-door sedan with an aggressive stance and sportier design. Widebody is a kind of a visual package. It adds 3.5 to the overall width and it also adds larger fender flares. Under the flares, 20-inch wheels are wrapped in 305 Pirelli tires.
Underneath, Charger Widebody comes with beefier suspension and larger brakes. FCA will install new lock and systems such as launch assist and launch control. Both front and rear bumpers are slightly modified and side skirts are wider too. As you know, Widebody is available on R/T and Hellcat models. These two variants will get small differences when it comes to Widebody work. On the other hand, both models are offering very mean appearance with low ground clearance and sporty stance.
Cabin Updates
As for the interior, new 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody will look amazing. Thanks to slight dimensional changes, the interior will get more shoulder room. Besides that, the rest of the cabin will get small updates. What we like about the Charger Widebody is its impressive list of high-tech features.
That includes a standard 7-inch touchscreen and plenty of driver-assistance features. On top of that, air vents will get a shape that you can find inside the new Challenger model. Uconnect system is updated and it offers quicker response now. The cabin is incredibly sporty and comfort is guaranteed. The seats are offering amazing lateral support and you can spot plenty of contrast stitches.
2020 Dodge Charger Widebody Engine
The forthcoming 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody will deploy the famous Hellcat engine. It produces 707 horsepower and it is the highlight of this model. Thanks to such a powerful engine, Charger manages to reach from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. However, if you load Widebody package on the R/T model, those figures are slightly lower.
R/T Charger Widebody sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. Of course, the reason is a different engine that doesn’t offer such a strong horsepower number. As we mentioned, Widebody adds numerous changes and modifications under the skin. That includes new anti-roll bars, retuned shocks, and six-piston front brake calipers.
Price and Release Date
The price of the Charger Hellcat is so high that this sedan doesn’t have any real competitors. We still don’t know the exact price of the upcoming 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody.
However, we expect from FCA to deliver this package for an additional $6,000. Knowing that the new Charger Widebody could cost between $72,000 and $76,000. This two-door sedan will hit the dealerships this fall.
