Dodge is ready to introduce the newest versions of the Charger and Challenger models. New 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat has been spotted during the test drive. The sporty sedan was spotted in the Widebody configuration and with small amount of camouflage. After that, a month ago, we had an opportunity to see a short video with the 2020 Charger.
From the same video, new Charger will get small visual upgrades. Some reports are speculating that the new Charger SRT Hellcat will get 10 additional horses. We can expect an incredible amount of power once again. On top of that, unique suspension and some other modifications under the skin will happen as well.
2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Exterior Look
The 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will look extremely aggressive and sporty. After the spy shots, a video on Instagram showed us further exterior upgrades. This high-performance sedan will get wider wheel arches. Bumpers are looking beefier than before and the rear spoiler is body-colored. The diffuser looks massive and two exhaust pipes are visible too.
The side profile looks smooth and the overall body is very attractive. New 20-inch wheels and new tires are visible on the video. Dodge Charger will continue to ride on the same platform despite latest rumors. The same rumors were suggesting a new platform that underpins the Alpha Romeo Giulia model. Car dimensions are the same as before. Also, the shape is unchanged for 50 years and it will remain.
Interior details are not available yet. However, the interior won’t introduce further significant upgrades. All we can expect are subtle changes that are barely visible. On top of that, the technology department will be updated as well. The 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will look traditional and sporty from the inside. Some cues are shared between Charger and Challenger models. The interior design looks stylish and Dodge will introduce more premium amenities this time.
On the other hand, features such as 7.0-inch touchscreen will remain. The same touchscreen now offers a better interface and better user experience. New safety aids will be in the offer. A system such as pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning are available now. UConnect system is up to date and the shape of air vents are slightly different now.
Not all Charger models will get the same engine. For the start, the base model offers a 3.6-liter V6 that generates 292 HP and 260 lb-ft of twist. Higher trims are offering the same engine with higher output. Optionally, a 5.7-liter that produces 485 HP and 475 lb-ft of torque is available. However, nothing can compare with the SRT model and its Hellcat engine.
The 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will arrive with a mighty 6.2-liter V8. Thanks to the supercharger, this engine cranks out 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Latest reports are saying that the famous Hellcat engine will gain an additional 10 horses. That rates the V8 engine and 717 horses now.
Fuel economy of the Hellcat engine is rated at 13 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. Besides the improved performance, Dodge will offer new suspension. On top of that, new electric power steering now comes as standard.
