2020 Chrysler Voyager – A Budget-Friendly Pacifica Minivan

Chrysler plans to revive its iconic Voyager model. The upcoming 2020 Chrysler Voyager should replace the existing Chrysler Pacifica minivan. However, the manufacturer will introduce Voyager as a replacement for Pacifica’s lower trim levels. That means the 2020 Voyager will replace the first two trim levels of the existing minivan.

On top of that, we won’t see any notable changes in L and LX trims in 2020. With all this info, Voyager will offer great performances, excellent interior and three rows of seats. However, this model still needs a couple of upgrades and improvements. That includes interior room in the third-row, transmission, and a couple of minor issues.

The Exterior is a Carryover

The upcoming 2020 Chrysler Voyager is basically a budget-friendly version of the Pacifica minivan. That means the previous L and LX trim levels are gone, and Voyager will take their place. Mechanically, Voyager is the same as the Pacifica minivan. The same is for the exterior design. Of course, the difference is now that the Pacifica will look way better.

As for the Voyager, shape, and dimensions are unchanged. On top of that, bumpers, headlights, and wheels are identical. The front end hosts thin and wide headlights, and the grille is very upscale. In the back, Voyager offers a somewhat sportier vibe than most of the competitors.

2020 Voyager Interior Specs and Trim Levels

To make it clear, if you want a premium minivan, you should go for the Pacifica model. The all-new 2020 Chrysler Voyager is very similar, but its level of luxury is far behind Pacifica’s. The base trim levels come with manual climate controls and regular cloth upholstery. Moreover, a second-row bench opens up space for seven passengers.

The LX trim adds better equipment. For instance, the second-row captain’s chairs are a much better choice. Furthermore, driver’s power-adjustable seats and steering wheel controls are standard too. We like the Stow ‘n Go seats that are an optional feature on both trim levels.

Same V6 Pentastar Engine

The approaching 2020 Chrysler Voyager will ride on a 3.6-liter V6 engine. As we mentioned, Voyager and Pacifica are mechanically identical. Knowing that potent V6 powertrain is producing 287 horsepower. On top of that, torque is rated at 267 lb-ft.

A 9-speed automatic transmission is a standard across all trim levels. Moreover, Voyager will deliver 22 mpg combined. New Voyager can tow up to 3600 pounds. Finally, this minivan will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds.

Competition

The fierce battle between Pacifica and Honda Odyssey continues. However, the 2020 Chrysler Voyager will surely help Pacifica to reach its goals. After all, Pacifica is more premium minivan without its first two trim levels. On the other hand, Voyager will look to rival easier competitors. The two models that are similar to the new Voyager are Toyota Sienna and Kia Sedona.

2020 Chrysler Voyager Price and Release Date

Although the Voyager is dubbed as the budget-friendly minivan, it won’t cost less than the current Pacifica model. The all-new 2020 Chrysler Voyager will cost around $29,000. That is higher than the current Pacifica and its L trim level. The LX trim will now cost $31,500. On the other hand, Pacifica will now cost significantly more. Chrysler will release the new Voyager in the coming weeks.
