The upcoming 2019 Ram 1500 is a full-size pickup truck that moves into its fifth generation and some major changes are ahead of us. The model is completely new and the updates like design change, new tow hooks and more comfortable interior are all included. On top of that, the front grille is new as well and Ram 1500 rides on a new frame that is both stronger and lighter.
Even a hybrid model is on the cards and Ram Rebel model returns on a big door. More off-road equipment is in the offer and familiar trim levels like Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Longhorn and Limited will remain.
2019 Ram 1500 will be weight reduced
The weight of 2019 Ram 1500 is reduced by almost 230 pounds and the frame is built from high-strength steel. Both payload and towing are increased as a result and front air dam is included for the first time in the pickup segment. The styling is refreshed, and Ram decided to ditch an iconic crosshair grille and replace it with a six-sided grille with “RAM” lettering in the center. LED headlights are adaptive and very functional.
Fog lights and taillights feature the same LED technology, however, lower trims adds standard halogen bulbs without the adaptive system. The 16-inch wheels are standard but the wheels on other models are ranged from 18 to 22-inches. Ram 1500 comes with 12 exterior colors available, with four new colors. The new colors are Tri-coat White, Patriot Blue, Billet Silver and Diamond Black Crystal. The two-point scheme is also on the offer as always.
2019 Ram 1500 Interior has Seductive Style
Just like the exterior updates, the 2019 Ram 1500 comes with plenty interior changes that look impressive. Ram ushered in a new era so well, that almost not a single part is carried from predecessor models. Of course, interior changes a lot through the trim levels but even the base model adds high-quality materials with updated technology. An all-new Uconnect infotainment system is there and it comes with a 12-inch touchscreen.
The HVAC system, navigation and other features are now controlled via new touchscreen, so the number of buttons in the cabin is reduced. On top of that, the 8.4-inch screen is back with updated software. The overall dimensional change means more legroom in the cabin and Ram even installed reclining rear seats. All seats inside the cabin are comfortable, especially the front ones. The new Harman Kardon audio system is also there. It offers 19 speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer.
2019 Ram 1500 Engine Options, Hybrid
The approaching 2019 Ram 1500 will be available with two engine options. However, there are also rumors that will diesel drivetrain hit the production. Ram 1500 offers two familiar options, a 3.6-liter V6 and 5.7-liter V8 Hemi. Both engines come with significant updates, and it is a mild-hybrid system. The 3.6-liter drivetrain produces 305 HP and 269 lb-ft of torque, while the 5.7-liter V8 Hemi cranks 395 HP and 310 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid model will benefit from a 48-volt battery pack and electric motor-generator. This motor adds 90 lb-ft of torque for V6 and 130 lb-ft for the V8 engine.
While not officially confirmed, the speculations are becoming true as Ram decided to add a diesel engine at disposal. The new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 drivetrain will soon become available. This one is capable of producing 260 HP and 440 lb-ft of torque.
Towing Capacity and EPA rating
This new 2019 RAM 1500 is the king in towing capacity section. It is able to tow maximum 12,750 pounds with 5.7-liter V8 Hemi engine. Also, with the new start/stop system and with 2-wheel and 4-wheel-drive system the V8 model gives EPA city/highway fuel economy of 15/22 mpg for the 2WD and 15/21 mpg for the 4WD.
2019 Ram 1500 Price and Development
The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 2WD Quad Cab Tradesman starts at around $33,000. This price also included destination charge. However, the model Big Horn will cost $37.500, while Laramie $37.000 and Rebel model $46.500.
The limited model and Longhorn will cost from 53,000 to $56.000 when fully loaded. Also, with 3.500 more one can get four-wheel drive system. The newest Ram’s pickup truck will go on sale by the end of 2018. It will challenge models like Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
