The new model 2019 Ram 1500 Mega Cab is a half-ton pickup truck is coming to the markets and it is more capable than ever before. Unlike the previous models, 2019 1500 will offer a Mega Cab configuration. This configuration was only available with the 2500 and 3500 models and now the Ram 1500 will get one as well.
Basically, it is the same truck and Mega Cab configuration only extends to the rear. The wheelbase and the truck’s length are intact, however, thanks to the extension of the rear cab, the legroom is slightly improved. The upcoming pickup truck comes with the slightly redesigned exterior, modernized interior, updated suspension and improved towing capacity. Moreover, a hybrid powertrain is on the cards as well.
2019 Ram 1500 Mega Cab exterior design and colors
The upcoming 2019 Ram 1500 Mega Cab will suffer certain exterior changes. It is far from an all-new styling, but some things are ditched and replaced. For an instance, the famous cross-hair grille is removed and is replaced with a narrow grille that is flanked by slimmer headlights. The customers can now choose between the standard halogen and optional LED headlights.
A 16-inch wheel design is standard and the rest of the optional choices is ranged from 18 to 22-inch. Ram now offers 12 exterior paints and even a two-tone paint scheme. The new colors are Patriot Blue, Tri-coat White, Billet Silver and Diamond Black Crystal. The 2019 Ram 1500 Mega Cab features a shorter bed and extended rear cab, and cargo space is better than on the standard model.
2019 Ram 1500 Mega Cab interior is now more driver-oriented
The Ram’s latest pickup truck comes with six trim levels. Every trim level offers unique features and themed interior. However, the new interior gained a better cabin layout and all of the controls are easier to use. Generally, everything from the inside is now more driver-oriented and even an infotainment display is more intuitive and user-friendly.
While the Crew Cab is four inches longer, the Mega Cab model comes with slightly improved legroom. Moreover, the 2019 Ram 1500 Mega Cab comes with an astonishing interior’s wood trims, perhaps the best wood trim in the segment. A rearview camera is standard, just like the power-adjustable mirrors, push-button start, telescoping steering wheel and cruise control.
2019 Ram 1500 Mega Cab powertrain output
Just like in the years before, the 2019 Ram 1500 Mega Cab will offer two powertrain options. A standard unit is a 3.6-liter V6 that returns 305 HP and 269 lb-ft of torque. If you opt for a mild-hybrid system, the electric motor is pairing with a V6 engine and thanks to the torque system and 48-volt battery, the final result is improved level of twist and a better fuel economy.
The second option is a 5.7-liter V8 powertrain that is rated at 395 HP and 410 lb-ft of torque. Combining hybrid motor with the V8 engine is optional, however, an additional 90 lb-ft of twists sounds good. Both two and four-wheel drive setups are available, and we can expect a diesel engine in the coming months.
