The forthcoming 2019 Ram 1500 Hybrid is an all-new pickup truck. Basically, everything is new, from the new frame to the new interior and mild hybrid system. Moreover, the hybrid motor could be paired with every engine from the lineup. The fifth-generation of the Ram 1500 brings a lot of excitement, the weight is reduced, performance is improved, and some iconic features such as crosshair grille are removed.
The diesel engine is also in the offer, just like plenty of off-road equipment and six trim levels. Fuel economy is stunning for full-size pickup segment and the interior is now much more comfortable and more user-friendly.
2019 Ram 1500 Hybrid exterior changes and new colors
The exterior is all-new and the upcoming 2019 Ram Rebel 1500 Hybrid will ride on a new high-steel frame. Famous crosshair grille is gone and is replaced with a new grille that features RAM logo in the center. LED headlights are included, just like the LED fog lights and taillights. The exterior design will change with each trim level, and higher trims include more chrome materials.
Wheels are ranged from 16-inches to 18 and 22-inches. There are up to 12 exterior paints available, and that includes four new colors: Diamond Black Crystal, Billet Silver, Patriot Blue and Tri-coat White. A two-tone paint scheme is optional. The dimensions are slightly larger which makes more interior room, wheelbase is about four inches long and the truck is one inch wider as well. According to the spy shots, a split tailgate is a possibility. The model crew cab will be about 3.9 inches longer than the current vehicle and it will get extra 4.1 inches in its wheelbase.
2019 Ram 1500 Hybrid interior will get a 12-Inch touchscreen
No matter how beautiful exterior looks, the interior is even better. The new era of the 2019 Ram 1500 Hybrid is coming, and not a single part will remain inside the cabin. Basically, everything inside the cabin is new, and logically, the changes are drastic. The interior changes a lot across the trim levels, but even the base model is so well equipped and technology is impressive for this segment.
A new 12-inch UConnect infotainment system is added and HVAC controls are massive. With this massive system, the new model will easily challenge Tesla models. A well-known 8.4-inch screen is back but it got a deserved software update. Crew Cab models are offering better legroom, even at the rear. The back seats are equally comfortable as the front ones, and Ram opted for a Harman Kardon premium audio system with 19 speakers.
2019 Ram 1500 Hybrid engine and battery capacity
The approaching 2019 Ram 1500 Hybrid will run on existing engine lineup which includes a 3.6-liter V6, a 5.7-liter Hemi V8. However, a significant update has happened, and a mild hybrid system is on the cards. Hybrid models will use an eTorque system that replaces the alternators with an electric motor. This system will be feed from a 48-volt battery.
However, the hybrid motor adds 90 lb-ft of torque for V6 and 130 lb-ft for a V8 engine. So, the 3.6-liter is rated at 305 HP and 5.7-liter Hemi makes 395 HP and electric motor will add additional 20 HP. From some rumors, this combination will provide decent 22 mpg.
While not official, some sources are saying that a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 will be included as well. If the rumors were true, this engine will burst 260 HP and 442 lb-ft of torque.
The Fiat Chrysler’s company said that will new model get some boost and the new capability. This will include a maximum 2,300-pound payload. It will also have some boost in towing capacity. The 2019 Ram 1500 Hybrid comes with a 12,750 pounds towing capacity.
2019 Ram 1500 Hybrid price and release date
The prices are not announced but have in mind the latest updates and refreshments. The current base model is priced at $27,000 and top peak Tradesman model cost around $56,000. If you want a hybrid system, we expect an additional #8,000 price increase. The 2019 Ram 1500 Hybrid will hit the dealerships by the end of 2018.
