However, a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 is the real deal and is available in GT and AWD trims. This drivetrain is more recommendable and it is optional on all trim levels except the GT trim. This V6 unit comes with all-wheel drive exclusively and it bursts 283 HP and 260 lb-ft of torque.
With this engine that acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is 7,8 sec. However, the top speed is limited to 118 mph. The full fuel tank of 21.1 gallons is enough for traveling range in the city of 337.60 miles, while on the highway 506.40 miles. Both engines are gasoline-powered and both engines are using a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Towing Capacity and Fuel Economy
Towing capacity scores 1,000 pounds with standard engine and 2,500 pounds with the V6. However, the engine with 2,4 liter inline-4 comes with better fuel economy in the city/highway of 19/25 mpg, while the other one that is stronger gives for the model with front-wheel drive 17/25 mpg and 16/24 mpg for the all-wheel-drive system.
2019 Dodge Journey Price, Rivals and Release Date
The 2019 Dodge Journey starts at $24,000. SXT and Crossroad models will cost around $26,000 while the top-range GT model starts at $34,500. Dodge Journey will remain the least expensive midsize-SUV on the market.
On top of that, even higher trim levels are less expensive than some rivals such as Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX-9, Honda Pilot or Kia Sorento. The latest SUV 2019 Dodge Journey will hit the dealerships later this year.
