The all-new 2019 Chrysler Aspen is a full-size crossover SUV that is based on famous Dodge Durango. Moreover, Aspen is the company’s first commercialized SUV and it was presented back in 2005. This 3-row crossover can accommodate up to eight passengers and it offers an all-wheel-drive setup.
The upcoming model will arrive with a redesigned exterior, boosted interior and new V6 engine, and of course, a slightly higher price.
2019 Chrysler Aspen exterior is made of light-weight materials
The 2019 Chrysler Aspen will use more light-weight materials than its predecessor and the car will be lighter as a result. On top of that, the vehicle will benefit from an improved fuel economy. As mentioned, Aspen was based on more famous Durango model, and the exterior is not so different than the Dodge’s model.
On the other hand, the new Aspen gained few exterior changes that should give this crossover more uniqueness. The exterior is more aggressive and the overall styling looks stunning. The front and rear will use LED units, while the bumpers and front grille are revised. The rest of the exterior will stay put, and that includes same hood design and same wheels.
2019 Chrysler Aspen Interior and cargo space
The interior of the upcoming 2019 Chrysler Aspen is spacious and it can fit up to eight passengers. Aspen offers three rows and legroom is ample even at the back. Moreover, the cargo space is above average in this segment and the interior generally looks modern and luxurious. Aspen is also perfect for families and vacations.
The base model will use cloth upholstery while higher trim levels will use leather. The dash and the instrument cluster are slightly better than in predecessor, mostly the layout of controls. On top of that, the newest model Aspen now offers a touchscreen that can control features such as navigation. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, numerous USB ports, Android Auto and Apple Car Play are all included as optional. Chrysler’s latest crossover now offers even more safety amenities as a standard, and the number of airbags inside the cabin is high.
2019 Chrysler Aspen engine
Unlike the previous models, the forthcoming 2019 Chrysler Aspen will use a new V6 engine. An old V8 unit is ditched so the choice between drivetrains comes down to two V6 options. The base engine is a 3.2-liter Pentastar turbocharged mill that can produce up to 270 HP and 281 lb-ft of torque. The second option is an all-new 3.6-liter V6.
This drivetrain will deliver 300 HP and 281 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are very similar. However, the latest 3.6-liter V6 offers better fuel economy of 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. A six-speed automatic transmission is available, next to the optional all-wheel-drive setup.
2019 Chrysler Aspen price and release date
As we wrote at the beginning, the 2019 Chrysler Aspen will arrive with a slight price increase. This comes as only logical thing bearing in mind all the changes that happened. Chrysler’s newest model will be available with a price of $32,000, while the top-range trim level could cost $46,000. If rumors are true, the 2019 Aspen will go on sale in February next year.
